About The Position

Visiting Angels of Anniston is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout Pell City and nearby communities. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Client visits vary and may involve personal care, household tasks, wellness support, errands, meal preparation, mobility assistance, companionship, and responding appropriately to emergencies. Full-time and PRN options with varied shifts are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Act quickly during medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
