About The Position

The House Person cleans and maintains corridors and public areas in accordance with housekeeping procedures, safety and security rules, and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction. The role includes removing newspapers, service trays, trash, soiled linen, and terry; cleaning hallways, elevators, service areas, and stairwells; stocking linen and supply closets; assisting housekeepers; and responding hospitably to guest requests and questions. The position is part time and offers a starting rate of $20.00 per hour. The job posting closes November 19, 2026, or when filled.

Requirements

• No formal education required.
• No experience required.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to meet standards of appearance.
• Ability to communicate with guests, housekeepers, the main linen room attendant, and supervisor.
• Ability to assess the appropriate response to meet standards.
• Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including pushing a vacuum, carrying supplies and dirty linen, bending, kneeling, continuous standing or walking, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

• Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of each shift; remove newspapers and service trays and empty trash receptacles.
• Remove trash and linens and note areas requiring immediate cleaning.
• Clean public areas, including hallways, elevators, service areas, and stairwells, following safety and security procedures.
• Remove soiled linen, terry, and trash from service areas and take them to the appropriate locations.
• Assist section housekeepers as needed, including with bed boards and rollaways.
• Stock linen and supply closets to maintain par inventories.
• Report missing or found articles, damage, and merchandise problems to the Senior Housekeeper or supervisor.
• Respond hospitably to guest requests and questions, and report guest issues and complaints.
