About The Position

The House Person cleans and maintains corridors and public areas in accordance with housekeeping procedures, standards, and safety and security rules and regulations to support guest satisfaction. The role includes removing trash, newspapers, service trays, soiled linens, and terry; cleaning hallways and other shared spaces; stocking linen and supply closets; assisting housekeepers; and responding hospitably to guest requests and questions. The position pays USD $15.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• No formal education required.
• No experience required.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to meet appearance standards.
• Ability to communicate with guests, housekeepers, the main linen room attendant, and the supervisor.
• Ability to assess the response needed to meet standards.
• Ability to perform the described physical demands, including pushing a vacuum, carrying supplies and dirty linen, bending and kneeling, reaching, continuous standing or walking, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

• Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of each shift; remove newspapers and service trays and empty trash receptacles.
• Remove trash and linens and identify areas needing immediate cleaning.
• Clean public areas, including hallways, elevators, service areas, and stairwells, following safety and security procedures.
• Take soiled linen, terry, and trash from service areas to the appropriate locations.
• Assist section housekeepers as needed, including with bed boards and roll-aways.
• Stock linen and supply closets to maintain par inventories.
• Report missing or found items, damage, and merchandise problems to the Senior Housekeeper or supervisor.
• Respond hospitably to guest requests and questions and report guest issues and complaints.
