About The Position

Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a House Person for the soon-to-open Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina. The role cleans and maintains corridors and public areas in accordance with housekeeping procedures, standards, and safety and security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction. The House Person supports section housekeepers, maintains linen and supply inventories, reports missing or found items and damage, and responds hospitably to guest requests and concerns.

No formal education or previous experience is required. Candidates should have a self-starting personality, an even disposition, the ability to meet appearance standards, and the ability to communicate with guests, housekeeping staff, and supervisors. The job involves frequent standing and walking, pushing a vacuum, carrying supplies and dirty linen, bending and kneeling, reaching throughout assigned areas, and climbing approximately 40 steps for 15% of a 40-hour workweek. Salary is USD $15.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to perform the described physical tasks, including continuous standing and walking, pushing a vacuum, carrying supplies and dirty linen, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

• Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of shifts; remove newspapers and service trays and empty trash receptacles.
• Remove trash and linens and identify areas needing immediate cleaning.
• Clean public areas, including hallways, elevators, service areas, and stairwells, following safety and security procedures.
• Take soiled linen, terry, and trash from service areas to appropriate locations.
• Assist section housekeepers as needed, including with bed boards and roll-aways.
• Stock linen and supply closets to maintain par inventories.
• Report missing or found articles, damage, and merchandise problems to the Senior Housekeeper or supervisor.
• Respond hospitably to guest requests and questions and report guest issues and complaints.
