About The Position

Gesher Human Services is a bridge to hope and opportunity for people at work, at home, and in the community. Gesher’s workforce development, behavioral health, and inclusion programming serves all Metro Detroiters while meeting the needs of the Jewish community. The House Manager oversees the daily operations of the assigned home, ensuring quality client care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of Direct Support Professional/Residential staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience working with adults with mental health disabilities
  • Prior supervisory or management experience, 1 year preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with at least three (3) years of driving experience.
  • Ability to transport clients in an agency vehicle.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Outlook, general internet usage)
  • Reliable, detail oriented, and capable of independent decision making.
  • Flexible, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, and support to assigned staff.
  • Set an example of professionalism and expected behavior for all direct reports.
  • Ensure staff conduct themselves in a professional, respectful manner at all times.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing performance reviews for assigned staff.
  • Facilitate new hire training and provide ongoing training/in-services for home staff.
  • Conduct and document monthly all-staff meetings; submit meeting minutes to the supervisor.
  • Work with the scheduler and trainer to ensure training compliance and appropriate shift coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with all Gesher policies and procedures, licensing requirements, individual contracts, and CARF standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce the NASW Code of Ethics, Adult Protection Code, Mental Health Code, and CARF guidelines.
  • Ensure staff review Gesher emails throughout their shifts and maintain the same practice personally.
  • Ensure full medication compliance per the manual medication sheet or electronic medication record, including timely and accurate administration.
  • Ensure staff complete medication EMARS reviews and DART entries daily.
  • Provide medication-related information to the Residential Administration Team as needed.
  • Complete, review, and submit incident reports as required, including communication to administration and regulatory entities.
  • Ensure all required documents and records are maintained in person-served files and employee files.
  • Review and in-service Individual Plans of Service to support accurate service delivery.
  • Communicate with the 24-hour Area Manager regarding household needs (e.g., linens, bathroom items, supplies).
  • Ensure access to recreational, cultural, and religious opportunities for clients.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities as assigned and outlined in this job description.
  • Submit weekly financial information to administration, including credit card receipts.
  • Maintain a regular working schedule and be available to cover shifts as needed, including mandated coverage.
  • Serve as “on-call” support to address issues, questions, or concerns during all shifts.
  • Arrive on time and participate fully in required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Any other duties assigned by leadership.
