About The Position

McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality (MML) is seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and highly engaged Hotel General Manager to lead the overall operations of Sixth & Blanco, a new landmark development blending luxury accommodations with world-class dining and retail. This is a leadership opportunity for a visionary hotelier to build, shape, and set the standard for a unique Austin property. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence, financial performance, guest experience, and team culture, while honoring the creative spirit of the brand. This role requires a leader who is both strategic and present, leading with integrity, inspiring teams, and understanding that exceptional hospitality lives in the details.

Requirements

  • Proven 10+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a senior leadership role within boutique or lifestyle hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge across rooms, food & beverage, and multi-outlet environments.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • A passion for design-forward, experience-driven hospitality.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle tools or controls.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must undergo a comprehensive background check upon offer acceptance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and retail.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department leaders and teams, fostering a collaborative and service-driven culture.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining service standards and resolving concerns with care and creativity.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
  • Monitor operating costs while maintaining quality, design integrity, and brand standards.
  • Partner with ownership and senior leadership on strategic initiatives, programming, and long-term growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and labor laws.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, brand partners, and the surrounding Austin community.
