About The Position

99 Ranch Market is hiring a Hot Deli Clerk to assist with food preparation and production, stock handling, product freshness, sanitation, and customer service. The role also includes maintaining deli displays and refrigerators, processing customer orders and payments, and keeping work and shared areas clean and safe. The listed pay range is $15–$17 per hour; this is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the types of ingredients, vegetables, and meats carried in the department.
• Good customer service skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to visually identify product quality and freshness.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Good manual dexterity for using processing equipment such as cutters or labeling equipment.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds or more with appropriate equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous kitchen, culinary, deli, restaurant, kitchen management, cooking, or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing food items, including washing, cutting, weighing, and other required procedures.
• Transfer or withdraw stocks, supplies, packaging materials, and food ingredients to and from cold or dry storage.
• Monitor product expiration dates and remove older products while stocking newer products on time.
• Maintain cleanliness of food production areas, including floors, walls, countertops, tables, and hood filters; wash dishes and sanitize production equipment, utensils, pans, trays, and tools.
• Follow food safety practices and OSHA safety practices when using dishwashing chemicals.
• Handle expired and recalled products properly and maintain accurate logs in accordance with company policy.
• Set up and take down promotional displays and ensure shelf tags are correctly labeled.
• Keep refrigerators neat and well stocked, with promotional items visible to customers.
• Keep aisles and common walking areas clear of debris to prevent injury.
• Assist customers with orders and answer their questions.
• Follow cash-handling procedures and complete checkout accurately and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as required by business needs.
