About The Position

The Hostess creates the restaurant’s first impression and is empowered to provide memorable guest experiences. The role welcomes and seats guests, supports reservation and special-function arrangements, maintains dining-room setup, and coordinates communication between shifts and management. The position is at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, a 220-acre resort. The employer describes a warm, open, country-music-oriented work culture and offers competitive compensation and benefits. The role is not eligible for a discretionary performance bonus or tipped/service-charge compensation.

Requirements

• Comprehend written guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders, and similar materials.
• Remember, recite, and promote menu items.
• Move throughout a crowded room to seat guests, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Handle customer complaints and concerns in a friendly, positive manner by listening, demonstrating empathy, and offering proactive solutions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Have effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests, offer seating choices, escort them to their table, and present menus.
• Read, maintain, and make daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
• Maintain proper dining-room setup.
• Receive and record reservations and make necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
