Terrain Café is a chef-driven, garden-to-table restaurant celebrating seasonal ingredients and thoughtful hospitality. The Host is the first and last point of contact for guests, helping shape their dining experience through warm greetings, organized table flow, and timely communication with service teams. The role calls for composure, attention to detail, and a natural sense of hospitality while managing reservations, waitlists, and guest preferences to support a smooth and memorable dining atmosphere. The Host welcomes and seats guests, assists with coats, strollers, accessibility, and seating needs, and accommodates requests such as highchairs and dietary restrictions. They use restaurant booking tools to manage reservations and waitlists, assign tables to maintain pacing, quote wait times, and confirm reservation details and special requests. The role also coordinates guest information with service teams, handles calls and messages, supports managers, and serves as a liaison between front- and back-of-house teams. Operational duties include completing host-stand opening, running, and closing tasks; monitoring table status and resets; keeping shared areas clean and organized; enforcing café policies; and assisting with kiosk orders, pickup orders, and delivery drivers. The Host follows safety, cleanliness, and hospitality protocols and represents the café’s welcoming, garden-inspired atmosphere.
