About The Position

The Host welcomes and seats guests, supports servers, and helps maintain an orderly, clean, and efficient restaurant. The role also handles guest wait lists and seating requests, takes takeout orders, processes guest payments, and provides friendly service throughout the visit.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests warmly and promptly, and provide a welcoming, friendly greeting.
• Accommodate special seating requests when possible and seat guests according to their preferences and service-station flow.
• When seating is limited, record guest names and party sizes, provide estimated wait times, and call guests when tables become available.
• Offer menus upon seating and inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers as needed.
• Clean and reset tables promptly after guests leave, including cleaning chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet.
• Process guest payments as quickly as possible and provide a positive, friendly send-off to departing guests.
• Maintain clean entrances, lobbies, dining rooms, and restrooms.
• Assist servers with maintaining and stocking service stations.
• Transport bus tubs with dirty dishes to the dish room when needed.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests requesting takeout service and enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
• Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return.
• Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
• Fill in as needed to support smooth and efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
