Host/Hostess - A+O Restaurant (Seasonal)
About The Position
The Host/Hostess welcomes and warmly greets guests upon arrival, answers the telephone, takes reservations, and manages efficient, timely seating at tables that best serve guests’ wishes. The role provides menus and general information about the restaurant and hotel meal options, maintains the waiting list, records party details, estimates wait times, and notifies guests when tables become available. Hosts also check in with guests during their meal, thank them as they depart, and invite them to return. The position includes maintaining clean work and waiting areas and following food-handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines. The role is seasonal and based at Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California. Shift times may change based on department needs, and flexible availability for various shifts is required.
Requirements
- Ability to serve guests through verbal, face-to-face interactions.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Ability to learn and use the telephone and computer systems used at the hotel.
- Flexible availability for various shift times as needed by the department.

Responsibilities
