About The Position

The Hospital Service Technician manages medical equipment within the hospital to keep it flowing efficiently and available for patient care. The role supports continual improvement in the quality, reliability, and value of products and the efficiency of services. The technician maintains professional relationships with hospital staff and other personnel and serves as a subject-matter expert in customer service.

The position is based at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The posting lists an hourly rate of $18.75 plus a $0.50 shift differential and a pay range of $16.73–$25.43.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency off-hours as needed to support a 24/7 schedule.
• Ability to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds and stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch or squat, kneel or crawl, sit, and stand for long periods.
• May be required to obtain certain vaccinations or provide proof of current vaccination status based on customer or company requirements; the posting includes COVID-19 vaccination among these requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment to patient rooms or standby locations in patient-ready condition, with appropriate software, accessories, and disposables.
• Communicate confidently with clinical staff about equipment features and functionality.
• Provide quality service, meet quality standards, and achieve customer and company metrics.
• Pick up, clean, and process equipment for patient-ready use according to company and hospital protocols.
• Maintain professional relationships with hospital staff and other personnel.
