About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Greenville, Spartanburg, Easley, Taylors, Greer, and surrounding areas of South Carolina. The role focuses on helping families through end-of-life care in the comfort of their homes, with time to listen, answer questions, and support peaceful, dignified goodbyes. Veterinarians practice independently in the field, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues for support. Schedules are self-managed and can range from two days per week to five days per week. Compensation is prorated according to the schedule: five-day full-time roles offer a $90,000 base salary, four-day full-time roles start at $80,000, and other schedules receive prorated compensation. Full-time compensation ranges from $55,000 to $125,000, with quarterly bonus opportunities. Veterinarians choose four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. The company states that it is family owned, does not use non-compete agreements, and is not owned by private equity.
