•Onsite

About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care for pets and their families in Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The veterinarian provides care in clients’ homes, helping families navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The work is designed to allow time for listening, explaining, and honoring each pet’s story, with only a few appointments per day rather than the pace of a traditional clinic. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments and is supported by thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Schedule choices include full-time options across five or four days per week, as well as two- and three-day self-managed part-time options. Compensation is guaranteed and prorated according to schedule, with additional quarterly bonus opportunities. The position does not include a non-compete agreement.
