About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, and the surrounding metropolitan area of California. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, with an emphasis on giving families time, clear explanations, and compassionate support during end-of-life visits. The role offers independent mobile practice, supported by onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. The schedule may range from two days per week to full-time, with self-managed scheduling options. Full-time options include four- or five-day schedules with guaranteed salary and quarterly bonus opportunities; two- and three-day schedules are described as part-time or full-time options with prorated compensation depending on the schedule. Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $150,000, with additional bonus opportunities. There is no non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities
