About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Stockton, Oakdale, Modesto, Valley Springs, California, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Veterinarians visit pets at home, offering families time, clear explanations, and compassionate support during end-of-life care. The work is designed to avoid the pace and pressure of a traditional clinic, with only a few appointments per day and no double-booking. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Scheduling options range from two to five days per week, including self-managed part-time scheduling. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $155,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The posting states that there is no non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
