About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Fremont, Union City, Newark, San Jose, and the Tri-Valley area of California. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, where veterinarians have time to listen, answer questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers independent mobile practice, a small number of appointments each day, and no non-compete agreement. Veterinarians can choose from five-day or four-day full-time schedules, or two- and three-day schedules, including self-managed part-time options. Weekend work is arranged by choosing four weekend days per month. The company provides onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues. Compensation includes a guaranteed base salary with no negative accrual and opportunities for quarterly bonuses. The posting lists a $145,000 base salary for the five-day full-time schedule and starting compensation of $120,000 for the four-day full-time schedule; compensation for other schedules is prorated or discussed based on the selected arrangement. Candidates must complete license verification, a background check, and a driving-record review before starting.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities
