Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Miami, Kendall, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, South Miami, Cutler Bay, Homestead, Florida, and surrounding areas. The role focuses on delivering gentle end-of-life care in pets’ homes, where families can make decisions and say goodbye in a familiar setting. Appointments are limited to allow time for listening, explaining, and honoring each pet’s story, without the pace of a traditional clinic. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with support from the team, thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available by phone. Schedule options include five-day and four-day full-time schedules, as well as two- and three-day full-time and self-managed part-time schedules. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian: four weekend days per month, rather than a fixed rotation. Compensation includes a guaranteed base salary with no negative accrual and quarterly bonus opportunities. The role requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to meet stated lifting requirements. Candidates complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before their start date. The company states that it does not use non-compete agreements.
