About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Fox Chapel, Murrysville, Plum, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, where veterinarians can spend time listening, answering families’ questions, and helping them say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a quieter pace than a traditional clinic, with only a few appointments per day and no double-booking or rushed goodbyes. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Schedule options include five-day or four-day full-time schedules, and two- or three-day schedules with full-time or self-managed part-time options. Compensation is guaranteed and prorated according to schedule, with a stated range of $65,000 to $135,000 and quarterly bonus opportunities. Veterinarians choose four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. The employer does not require non-competes.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
