About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarian to serve pet families in Brooklyn and Elmont, New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice veterinary medicine without the pressures of a traditional waiting room, double-booked appointments, or corporate production dashboards. The focus is on providing compassionate, unhurried end-of-life care, allowing ample time for each appointment. Heartstrings Pet Hospice is a privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led practice that explicitly does not use non-compete contracts, ensuring veterinarians have career freedom. The ideal candidate is experienced in handling difficult conversations and seeks a more meaningful and less fast-paced practice compared to general or emergency medicine. This role is also suitable for doctors returning to practice or seeking a flexible schedule to accommodate family life.
Requirements
- DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
- Weekend Availability (Rotational)
- Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
- Professional Communication Skills

Responsibilities
