About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Westborough, Holden, Grafton, Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Veterinarians provide care in clients’ homes, helping families make informed decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced mobile practice, with a few appointments per day and time to listen, explain, and support each family. The veterinarian practices independently on the road with support from thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Schedule options range from two days per week to full time, with self-managed scheduling available. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The employer states that it does not require non-compete agreements.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
