About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families. The veterinarian serves families in Plymouth, New Bedford, Marshfield, Kingston, Wareham, Massachusetts, and the surrounding metropolitan area, providing care in pets’ homes at a slower pace than a traditional clinic. The work includes listening to families, answering difficult questions, and helping them honor their pets with dignity and peace. The role involves independent mobile practice with team support, including onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues. Schedules are available for two to five days per week, with self-managed options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities for the listed full-time schedules. The role has no non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
