About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a veterinarian to provide compassionate hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Savannah, Richmond Hill, Pooler, Rincon, Georgia, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is provided in pets’ homes, at a measured pace that allows time to listen, answer questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments and is supported by onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Schedules are available for two to five days per week, with self-managed scheduling options. Compensation is prorated according to schedule, with guaranteed compensation ranging from $45,000 to $110,000. Five- and four-day schedules are described as full-time and include guaranteed salary plus quarterly bonus opportunities. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian, with four weekend days per month. Candidates must hold a veterinary degree and a valid U.S. driver’s license. License verification, a background check, and a driving-record review are completed before the start date. The position does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving-record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
Listen to families, answer questions, and support them through end-of-life decisions and goodbyes.
