About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Cranberry, Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is provided in clients’ homes, where veterinarians support families through end-of-life decisions and help pets experience peaceful, dignified goodbyes. The role offers a slower-paced practice with a few appointments each day and time to listen, answer questions, and care for each family. Veterinarians practice independently in a mobile setting, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, training, and experienced colleagues available for support. Schedule options range from two days per week to full-time, with self-managed scheduling available. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. Weekend work is scheduled on the veterinarian’s terms: choose four weekend days per month.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Completion of license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
