About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Cranberry and Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is delivered in clients’ homes, where pets can be surrounded by familiar people and places. The role emphasizes taking time to listen, explain, answer difficult questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace, rather than working at the pace of a traditional clinic. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments and has support from thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Schedules are self-managed, with options ranging from two to five days per week. Compensation is guaranteed and varies by schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The employer states that it does not require non-compete agreements.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
