About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides compassionate hospice and in-home euthanasia care for pets in their homes. The veterinarian serves families in Baltimore, Annapolis, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, Maryland, and the surrounding metropolitan area, helping them navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role involves mobile, independent practice with a small number of appointments per day and time to listen, explain care, and support families. Veterinarians receive onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues for ongoing support. The position offers schedule options ranging from two days per week to full time, including self-managed scheduling. Full-time options include five-day and four-day schedules with guaranteed salary and quarterly bonus opportunities. Two- and three-day schedules are described as part-time, with prorated compensation. Guaranteed compensation ranges from $65,000 to $155,000 depending on schedule. Veterinarians choose four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. Heartstrings states that it does not use non-compete agreements.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
