About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarian to serve pet families in Layton, Bountiful, West Valley City & West Jordan, Utah. This role offers a unique practice environment free from waiting rooms, double-booked appointments, and corporate production dashboards. The focus is on providing compassionate end-of-life care with ample time for each appointment. Heartstrings Pet Hospice is a privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led veterinary practice that does not utilize non-compete contracts, allowing veterinarians to build their careers on their own terms. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians looking to transition from the fast pace of general or emergency practice, those returning to practice after a break, or individuals seeking to build a schedule around family commitments.
Requirements
- DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
- Weekend Availability (Rotational)
- Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
- Professional Communication Skills

Responsibilities
- Practice medicine in a mobile environment, focusing on hospice and euthanasia for pets.
- Conduct difficult conversations with families regarding end-of-life care.
- Provide compassionate, dignified, and respectful care to all patients and families.
- Communicate professionally with the team and families.
- Work independently in a mobile setting.
- Be available for rotational weekend coverage.
