About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is hiring a Hospice Nurse RN to provide compassionate, comprehensive care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and support their families and caregivers. Care is provided in settings where patients are most comfortable, including homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role addresses patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and honors their wishes with dignity and respect. This is a full-time on-call weekend position. The nurse takes call from Friday at 4:30 PM until Monday at 8:00 AM, and may also be assigned scheduled visits. The nurse responds to emergent needs during weekends, evenings, and overnight, supporting patients and families during a critical time. Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN).
At least two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
Current, valid CPR certification.
Demonstrated patience and a supportive, sensitive approach to supporting patients, families, and caregivers.
Willingness and ability to provide care in facility and patient-home settings.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergent patient and family needs during weekends, evenings, and overnight.
Provide compassionate support to patients and families during a time of significant need.
Assist patients and caregivers and provide available medications and teaching to promote comfort with pain, breathlessness, dying or transitioning, and support at the time of death.
Provide care in patient homes and facility settings.
Complete scheduled visits when assigned.
