Hospice Massage Therapist (CI-PRN)
About The Position
The Massage Therapist provides relief and relaxation to clients through therapeutic massage. The therapist assesses each client individually and develops an appropriate plan of action. The position focuses on seeing hospice patients in their homes approximately 90% of the time, with the remaining 10% of visits at the Hospice House. The therapist must be willing to cover Marion, Hendricks, Morgan, and Johnson counties, as well as portions of Shelby and Hancock counties. Travel of up to 50% is required. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Massage therapist license from the State Licensing Board.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, required within 90 days of hire.
- First Aid certification from the American Heart Association, required within 90 days of hire.
- Massage therapy license or certificate from a recognized school or organization, such as AMTA, OBTA, or ABMP.
- At least 1 year of massage experience.
- Willingness to cover Marion, Hendricks, Morgan, and Johnson counties, as well as portions of Shelby and Hancock counties.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion, and develop a treatment plan.
- Communicate with patients about their medical histories, problems, and pain, and respond to their questions and concerns.
- Perform therapeutic massage using a variety of modalities on soft tissues and joints to treat medical conditions and injuries.
- Accurately document and maintain client records and required department paperwork in a timely manner.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the work area, and disinfect it after treatment.
- Provide massage services to hospice patients in their homes and at the Hospice House.
