Hospice Care Consultant
About The Position
The Hospice Care Consultant (HCC) is a strategic sales representative and brand ambassador who promotes hospice services and develops lasting relationships with healthcare referral partners. The role educates healthcare professionals about hospice care, identifies opportunities for referrals, and advocates for patients and families to help them understand hospice options and the benefits of early referrals. The consultant plans and executes marketing initiatives, represents the organization at community and professional events, and works independently and collaboratively with clinical and operational teams. This is a safety-sensitive position. The listed salary range is $63,770–$79,710 per year; compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and internal equity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or referral marketing.
- Strong existing relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or home health professionals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Sensitivity to the needs of terminally ill patients and their families.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding admissions and census targets.

- Prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or home health.
Responsibilities
- Educate healthcare professionals about hospice services and build confidence in the organization's care so patients are referred at the right time.
- Identify referral opportunities by calling on hospitals, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, clinics, and physician offices.
- Discuss patient needs with healthcare professionals and explain how hospice care can support quality of life.
- Plan and execute strategic marketing initiatives to increase awareness and drive referral growth.
- Represent the organization at community events, professional associations, and educational in-services.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families, explaining hospice options and the benefits of early referrals.
- Work independently and collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to support relationship-building, marketing, and referral growth.
