About The Position
The Home Health Aide provides personalized, home-based care and support to seniors so they can live safely and happily at home. The role includes personal care, assistance with daily activities, companionship, and helping clients maintain a safe home environment. Aides work with a 1:1 aide-to-client ratio and can set their own schedule. Interim HealthCare describes its culture as family-oriented and focused on putting patients first.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in Kansas.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation.
- Compassionate and helpful nature, good communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in a healthcare role is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to help seniors live safely at home.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
- Help with ambulation, transferring, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Provide medication reminders, document clients’ conditions, and notify a supervisor of concerns.
- Help ensure the home is safe by keeping pathways unobstructed.
- Participate in activities clients enjoy, such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.
