About The Position

The Hospice Aide - CNA provides direct patient care under the direction of an RN and in accordance with the Hospice Aide/Homemaker Plan of Care. The role supports patients with safe transfers and ambulation, communicates and documents changes and care to help ensure continuity, and follows accepted infection control principles. The aide promotes respectful, supportive communication with patients, families, and colleagues, submits documentation on time, and performs other duties as required while complying with applicable laws, Medicare regulations, and agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred or GED.
• Unencumbered certification according to the applicable Nurse Aide Registry.
• Current CNA license.
• At least one year of experience as a Hospice Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, home health agency, hospice, or long-term care facility.
• Demonstrated interest in the welfare of ill and elderly people and a commitment to compassionate care.
• High integrity, including maintaining confidential information.
• Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance.

• EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Practice accepted infection control principles.
• Promote positive, supportive, and respectful communication with patients, families, and other employees.
• Submit all documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Ensure overall compliance with local, state, and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures.
