About The Position

The Hospice Aide - CNA provides direct patient care under the direction of an RN and in accordance with the Hospice Aide/Homemaker Plan of Care. The role supports safe patient transfers and ambulation, communicates and documents changes and care provided to promote continuity of care, and follows accepted infection control principles. The aide communicates respectfully and supportively with patients, families, and coworkers, submits documentation on time, and helps ensure compliance with applicable laws, Medicare regulations, and agency policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

High school diploma preferred or GED.
Unencumbered certification according to the applicable Nurse Aide Registry.
Current CNA license.
At least one year of experience as a Hospice Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, home health agency, hospice, or long-term care facility.
Demonstrated interest in the welfare of ill and elderly people and a compassionate approach to care.
High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

Ensure overall compliance with local, state, and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures.
