Hospice Aide/CNA
About The Position
AccentCare is hiring a full-time Hospice Aide/CNA to serve Amarillo and surrounding areas on a Monday–Friday schedule. The role provides compassionate, hands-on support to hospice patients in their homes or care facilities, helping maintain comfort, safety, and dignity while delivering end-of-life care. The position requires frequent physical activity and may involve assisting with lifting up to 200 pounds with assistance. Pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour. The role is part of a collaborative, purpose-driven care team focused on providing exceptional care to patients and supporting one another. Requirements
- State certification as a nurse’s aide, completion of required training, and a score of at least 85% on the agency’s competency exam; additional requirements vary by state.
- A clear listing on the state aide registry and eligibility to provide care in homes, nursing facilities, or hospitals.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and state-required auto insurance.
- CPR certification is required for direct patient care in Georgia and Washington.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to hospice patients, including assistance with personal hygiene, repositioning, and mobility.
- Support patients in their homes or care facilities through frequent walking, standing, reaching, and occasional driving to provide timely and dignified end-of-life care.
- Monitor patients’ comfort levels, respond to their needs, and assist with activities of daily living while maintaining safety and dignity.
- Adapt to home and facility environments, including varying temperatures, moderate noise, and standard healthcare exposures, while following infection-control and safety protocols.
