About The Position

Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking a compassionate Certified Nurse Aide to provide personal care to hospice patients in its inpatient center. The role supports the total plan of care by assisting patients with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting. The aide communicates with the assigned RN for care direction and reports patient condition changes and updates. The aide also documents care as it is provided so other team members can understand the patient’s condition, needs, and what care is working. The position follows an as-needed PRN schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Hold a current Certificate of Nurse Aide.
• Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns and problems of terminally ill patients.
• Critical-thinking skills.
• Compassionate manner.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with personal care as part of the patient’s plan of care, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
• Communicate with the assigned RN to receive direction on providing care.
• Share updates about the day’s care and report changes in patients’ conditions to the assigned RN.
• Document care as it is provided, describing the patient’s needs and the care delivered.
• Provide patient-focused, compassionate care and allow sufficient time to meet each patient’s needs.
