About The Position

The Honors Program Graduate Assistant will facilitate Honors Signature Experience courses, hold meetings, take attendance, communicate with students, and lead discussions. This role also involves attending on-campus or virtual events, assisting with UHP events, and supporting the Honors Program first-year orientation. The position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to facilitate discussions with undergraduate students and problem-solve conflicts.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Feel comfortable facilitating and initiating discussions with groups of 20 undergraduate students
  • Problem-solve should technical or scheduling conflicts arise

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate one to two Honors Signature Experience courses per semester
  • Hold meetings, take attendance, communicate with students over email, and lead discussions throughout the semester (usually scheduled on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings)
  • Attend on-campus or virtual events (occasionally scheduled on the weekends)
  • Help organize other UHP events throughout the year as needed, including the senior capstone conference
  • Assist with the Honors Program first-year orientation in August
