About The Position

This position is for a Federal Work-Study student assistant in the One Stop department. The role involves responding to inquiries, performing office tasks, supporting professional staff with various projects, updating departmental systems, and assisting with communications. A key aspect of the role is educating students and parents on processes and directing them to online resources. The ideal candidate will be personable, comfortable with high-volume phone work, detail-oriented, and possess excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal communication skills written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Maturity and ability to work with confidential information
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and take responsibility for tasks assigned
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Be dependable and on time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and interest with one or more of the following: finance, data analysis and/or communications

Responsibilities

  • Respond to general inquiries from students and parents via phone, email, and in-person visits
  • Complete office tasks such as supply inventory, filing, shredding, etc.
  • Support the professional staff in the One Stop with processes, projects including data analysis and social media posts, research and reporting, etc.
  • Access and update departmental systems including address changes, parking permit/vehicle updates, calendars, etc.
  • Assist in the creating of departmental communications and offering a student perspective
  • Upload documentation to the Perceptive Content system
  • Educating fellow students and parents on process and referring students to self-help on the One Stop website
