About The Position

Visiting Angels of Kirkland is hiring part-time Homecare Aides to support clients throughout Greater King County. The role focuses on enriching clients’ quality of life and supporting their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. Caregivers provide personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, and other support in clients’ homes and during outings or appointments. The employer offers advanced training opportunities, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
• HCA or CNA Exemption Letter with active NAR; driver’s license if applicable.

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing applicable dietary constraints.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
