Certified Homecare Aide - HCA (Sammamish, WA)
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Kirkland is hiring Certified Homecare Aides to provide in-home care to clients throughout Greater King County, including Sammamish, West Seattle, Des Moines, Normandy Park, and Kirkland. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their individual care plans. Caregivers may provide personal care and hygiene assistance, companionship, mobility support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and help with errands and appointments. The employer offers opportunities for additional training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
- Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
- HCA or CNA exemption letter with active NAR; driver’s license if applicable.

- Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Help clients with light physical exercise and walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients, observing dietary constraints.
- Perform light housekeeping.
- Report changes in clients’ health or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly to emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients on shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
