About The Position

The HIM Technician, Non-Certified supports the collection and preparation of medical records for coding and reimbursement activities, physician chart completion, and permanent record storage and retrieval. The role may also include completing birth certificates in accordance with state requirements and hospital policy, assisting the HIM Tech, Certified as directed by the HIM Operations Manager or Lead, and performing other tasks needed for HIM operations. The schedule is PRN (as needed).

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent, or some college.
• 1–3 years of medical records experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare medical records for coding and reimbursement activities.
• Support physician chart completion.
• Store and retrieve permanent records.
• May complete birth certificates according to state requirements and hospital policy.
• Assist the HIM Tech, Certified as directed by the HIM Operations Manager or Lead, as needed.
• Perform other tasks needed for HIM operations.
