The High Lift Operator moves product through the warehouse by pulling down and putting away pallets in the rack system using a hi-lift forklift. The position works the D shift, Friday through Sunday, from 18:00 to 06:00, with a $3.00 weekend differential and a $0.50 night differential. The work requires safely and accurately picking and placing pallets, following Tyson Foods’ safety and product-quality procedures, and communicating issues to leadership. Standing or walking may account for up to 100% of the shift, and employees may spend up to 100% of their working time on a powered industrial truck, frequently mounting and dismounting it. Tyson provides personal protective equipment and offers a boot reimbursement after the probationary period. The PPE catalog includes high-visibility selections; Tyson covers 50% of the cost of PPE other than boots, with the employee’s share payroll-deducted. Boots are paid for up to $100 and must be steel or composite toe, meet an ANSI rating of 75 PSI or more, have a slip-resistant sole, and cover the ankles. Composite toe is preferred. The position requires passing a post-offer health assessment and drug screening. Ottawa FW does not accept rehires.
