About The Position

Adventureland is hiring age-15 Helping Hands hosts for its 2027 season. Hosts are cross-trained to support multiple park departments, including Admissions, Food & Beverage, Retail, Rides, Aquatics, and Park Services. They help the park run smoothly during peak attendance and staffing needs, providing friendly guest service while following applicable safety, sanitation, and operating procedures. Aquatics and lifeguard duties apply when assigned and qualified.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws; ride duties require being at least 16 years old.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass admissions training.
• Fifteen-year-olds must pass Ellis.
• For applicable lifeguard duties, ability to pass swim tests and perform water rescues and assists.
• Ability to comply with uniform policies.
• Safety-oriented mindset and ability to comply with applicable federal, state, and local aquatics safety regulations.
• Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions.
• Guest-focused approach and ability to work well with other hosts and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner across multiple park areas.
• Sell and redeem tickets, assist with park entry, and respond to guest inquiries.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages according to safety guidelines.
• Operate retail point-of-sale systems and assist with stocking and displaying merchandise.
• Safely operate rides and attractions according to park protocols, where eligible and assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness in park areas, including restrooms, dining areas, and walkways.
• Monitor pools and water attractions as a certified lifeguard and respond to emergencies when applicable.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and operating procedures in each assigned area.
• Perform opening and closing duties and assist other departments as required.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
