About The Position

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station. The work supports the efficient and safe transfer, spreading, covering, loading, and/or compacting of waste or soil. Operators inspect and maintain equipment, monitor incoming waste, follow safety procedures, and complete required reports. They are also expected to help maintain a positive work environment and carry out other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
Good time-management skills to complete assigned responsibilities efficiently and safely.
Good follow-through, including the ability to adhere to a work schedule and address challenges as they arise.
Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules, promote Company safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks.
Pride in work and motivation to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections in accordance with Company policy, ensuring windows, lights, mirrors, and rear-view cameras are clean.
Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front-end loaders using proper safety standards.
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
Monitor equipment condition to ensure it remains operationally ready and minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
Perform and document minor equipment service, and refer more complicated mechanical issues to the Maintenance Shop.
Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports, and report necessary repairs to a supervisor.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Ensure the shop is clean, serviced, and stored at the completion of each shift.
Maintain a positive work environment through constructive communication and conduct with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
