About The Position

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Commercial Driver to operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front- or rear-end load lift attachments. The driver picks up containers of waste or recyclable materials and transports the materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when the truck reaches legal load capacity. Containers may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be maneuvered to a pickup stage area. The role involves navigating high-traffic and congested roads, driveways, alleyways, and lots, and requires skilled backing maneuvers. The driver follows company safety rules and applicable OSHA, DOT, and local, state, and federal requirements; inspects and documents the vehicle; communicates service issues and customer requests; maintains containers and customer locations; follows assigned routes; and completes required end-of-day documentation. The position is performed primarily outdoors and/or while driving a video- or GPS-monitored vehicle, in conditions that may include dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is advertised.

Requirements

At least one year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL, or equivalent military driving experience, within the last seven years.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with an air-brake endorsement.
Must be at least 21 years old to meet the CDL requirement.
Acceptable driving record.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Successfully complete a pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, including previous employment, criminal history, and motor vehicle record reviews.
Able to exert physical effort handling objects weighing more than 50 pounds frequently.
Able to push, pull, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to use arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity for motor coordination.

Responsibilities

Operate the assigned vehicle in accordance with WIN Waste safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document them using the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
Immediately report unsafe situations and service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
Attend and participate in required training programs, briefings, and meetings.
Work with the Route Manager to improve route efficiency and identify best practices.
Notify the Route Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
Report service interruptions and potential safety hazards, including blocked containers and closed lots, streets, or alleyways.
Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or the Route Manager.
Identify and report containers that need repair or replacement.
Reconcile the number of containers on the route with the service level listed on the service list.
Completely empty containers and leave customer locations clean and free of debris.
Complete and submit customer tickets when excessive yardage must be removed.
Return containers to the customer's property with lids properly replaced and enclosure doors secured, without blocking driveways or traffic.
Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation and checkout.
Perform duties as scheduled and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Maintain positive working relationships and communicate appropriately with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management.
