About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II to operate heavy equipment at a landfill in Davies, Florida. The role involves operating bulldozers, scrapers, front-end loaders, and other material-moving equipment to position raw materials and finished components. Operators follow company safety policies and standard operating procedures, inspect and maintain equipment, and keep accurate maintenance records. The normal work setting is a shop or field, with frequent exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting pay is $24 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Be over 18 years of age.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Ability to work independently, take accountability for following safety guidelines, communicate effectively with colleagues, and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
