Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Landfill
About The Position
WM is hiring an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work at its waste disposal site in Erie, Pennsylvania. The role involves operating equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders to support site operations. Operators follow strict safety procedures and applicable operating and maintenance guidelines. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some weekends. The normal work setting is a shop or field at the waste disposal site. The role includes routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records, and moving raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment. The operator may also perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
- Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines for operating and maintaining vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
