About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II to operate heavy equipment at its landfill in Pompano. The role involves using equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders to support waste disposal operations. The position follows strict operating and safety procedures and includes routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and recordkeeping. The usual work setting is a shop or field, with the normal job location described as a landfill in Pompano.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closing time varies), plus every other Saturday from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Starting pay is $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience. WM describes the role as stable work with benefits and career training and development.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
• Follow applicable standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
