About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II to operate heavy equipment at a landfill and support the company’s waste management and recycling operations. The role involves operating equipment that requires a high level of skill, following strict safety procedures, and helping ensure the safety and well-being of landfill employees. The normal job setting is a landfill in Davies, Florida, with work performed in a shop or field environment.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. WM describes the position as offering stable hours and benefits, including healthcare coverage, a stock purchase plan, tuition assistance, a company-matched 401(k), and adoption and parent support.

Requirements

• Three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
