About The Position
WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to work at its waste disposal site in Maricopa, Arizona. The role operates heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, at recycling and waste-disposal facilities. Operators follow safety procedures and standard operating guidelines, inspect and maintain equipment, keep accurate records, and move raw materials and finished components. The normal work setting is a shop or field, with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
- Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
