About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to work at a waste disposal or recycling facility in Alvin, Texas. The role involves operating heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, to support the company’s waste management and recycling operations. The position works Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., in a shop or field setting. WM emphasizes safe work practices, stable hours, employee well-being, and training and development.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
